The Irish international Noel Cantwell (1932-2005) made 123 League appearances for Manchester United between 1960 and his retirement in 1967. He captained the 1963 F.A. Cup winning side. Previously Cantwell had been at West Ham United for eight years, the 'Hammers' signing him from Cork Athletic in 1952.
