(4) At the end of the Olympic Triple Jump competition, Jonathan Edwards celebrated his gold medal victory with a lap of honour at the Olympic stadium. When he approached an area with a concentration of British supporters he threw his right track shoe into the crowd. Through serendipity it was caught by the present vendor who had travelled to Sydney from England for the Games. This moment has been captured on video and is offered as part of the lot.
