A 1968 Mexico Olympic Games gold prize medal won by a Hungarian footballer, designed by Professor Giuseppe Cassioli of Florence with Victory seated above a stadium, the reverse with a winner carried by jubilant athletes, silver-gilt, gilding worn; sold with a letter of authenticity (2) The identity of the Hungarian player who was part of the team who beat Bulgaria 4-1 in the gold medal match is unknown. The medal is offered with a letter of authenticity from the respected Olympic memorabilia specialist Ingrid O'Neil confirming that this Olympic gold prize medal was awarded for soccer at Mexico in 1968. She also explains that due to bad production almost all of the gold medals from these Games have lost their gold plating over time and appear now almost silver.
