Ephemera relating to the British runner John Havard, including ten 1948 London Olympic Games athletics programmes (some in pairs for the same day); together with numerous other athletics programmes and athletics club reports mostly from the late 1940s, various autographed dinner menus from Cambridge and Oxford University and other Athletics Clubs, signatures including Roger Bannister, the McWhirter twins and Dr John Mark the final torch bearer in 1948 who lit the Olympic flame cauldron (the lot also including a press photograph of Dr Mark running with the torch in the Stadium), other press photographs and a file of correspondence (a qty) John Havard was a sprinter who still holds the London Universities Record for the 100 yards. John Havard was president and chairman of quite a few athletic sports clubs and societies, including the Cambridge University Athletics Club.
