23 postcards with coverage of figure skating at the first Winter Olympic Games at Chamonix in 1924, published by Felix Auditor of St Moritz, F Monnier Photo Sport of Chamonix and others Material from the first Winter Games is scarce. Of British interest are cards featuring Ethel Muckelt who won bronze in the women's figure skating, plus her pairs partner Jack Page. The cards also depict the Norwegian competitor who finished 8th and last. However, she was only 11 years old. Her name was Sonja Henie and she would go on to win gold at the next three successive Olympic Games of 1928, 1932 & 1936. In another card Henie can be seen parading with the Norwegian team. Other images of the nations parade, with only a handful of people watching, shows the British team.
