A collection of eight medals awarded to the Danish heavyweight boxer Soren Petersen including his silver prize medal from the 1920 Antwerp Olympic Games, designed by Josue Dupon, by Coosemans of Brussels, the obverse with a victorious athlete bringing back the palm of victory, Fame blows a trumpet beyond, the reverse with the Legend of Braba monument, the cathedral and port of Antwerp beyond; the other seven medals including Petersen's participation medals for the 1920 Antwerp and 1924 Paris Olympic Games, the remainder awarded at various boxing tournaments in the 1920s (8) Soren Petersen (1894-1945) competed in the 1920 Antwerp and 1924 Paris Olympic Games in the heavyweight boxing division and won the silver medal on both occasions. The first medal in this lot is Petersen's silver prize medal from Antwerp Games when he was beaten in the final by Great Britain's Ronald Rawson.
