A Bristol South End Football Club season ticket season 1895-96, matches played at St John's Lane, Bedminster, issued to a Mr Lambrook and numbered 170, contents include a list of officers, club rules, confirmation of annual subscription of five shillings per annum, or two shillings and sixpence for players and women, the ticket is not valid for cup ties, benefit matches or charity matches, also advertisements, fixture lists for the 1st XI and 2nd XI teams, and confirmation of club colours of red shirts & blue knickers, blue cloth, traces of original white lettering Bristol South End was the original name of Bristol City FC. The club adopted the City title when they turned professional in season 1897-98 and was accepted into the Southern League. This was two years after the date of the present season ticket. It is believed that this season ticket is the oldest item of Bristol City memorabilia ever to have been offered at auction, and could even be the oldest surviving object related to the club. The old amateur Bristol South End club was only in existence for one season before the date of this season ticket.
