A very scarce Manchester United v Benfica European Cup final replay programme at Highbury Friday 31st May 1968, sold together with the official programme for the final tie successfully concluded at Wembley Wednesday 29th May 1968, both in very good condition (2) If the 1968 European Cup Final at Wembley had finished as a draw, a replay would have been played at Highbury two days later. Given the short time difference between the two games the programme printers, King and Jarrett Ltd, London, SE11, had developed a contingency plan in order to be able to produce the full complement within 48 hours. This involved having a replay programme up to printer's proof stage before the Wembley final took place and was numbered as Arsenal programme Vol. XLIX No.30. Accordingly the introduction on p.1 reads ''We particularly welcome the teams, officials and supporters of Manchester United and Benfica among our visitors to Highbury tonight, and the fact that this Final has been brought here from Wembley for continuation and decision means that European Cup history is being made, because for the first time since the tournament was launched in season 1955-56 a replay has been necessary in the Final.''
