The John Bull British Feather Weight Championship belt won by Mike Honeyman, in silver & enamel by Percy Edwards Ltd., London, the central panel with a boxing scene in raised relief and inscribed in blue enamel JOHN BULL, FEATHER WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP, flanked by a pair of panels with oval enamel portraits of John Bull and his bulldog, other fittings and a clasp modelled as two serpents, all mounted on a red, white and blue silk belt, fully extended length 80cm., 31 1/2in.; sold with a scanned photograph of Honeyman wearing this belt (2) The British Feather Weight boxing title had been relinquished by Tancy Lee after his defeat of Danny Morgan 24th February 1919. The vacant title was then won by Mike Honeyman who defeated Billy Marchant at the National Sporting Club on 26th January 1920. Tancy Lee then challenged Honeyman to reclaim his former title and they fought at the same venue 25th October 1920. The fight was stopped in Honeyman's favour in the 19th of the 20 three minute rounds. Honeyman eventually lost the British Feather Weight title to Joe Fox 31st October 1921. Honeyman, a Londoner born in 1896, continued to box until 1926 but never in a title fight again. A 10 year career came to an end after he suffered three straight defeats. His final record was 21 wins from 35 fights, 4 of which were drawn.
