Fine 1930s lawn tennis photograph album, intriguing and interesting, compiled by a passenger and her family on the Liner 'S.S.Washington' which sailed from Southampton to New York in July 1936, international tennis players also travelled on this voyage and there are candid photos of John Van Ryn, Sarah Palyrey Fabyan, Midge Van Ryn and Alice Marble, the family trip took in New York, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Coney Island, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Havana and Washington, whilst photographs were taken both on board and at each destination including Forest Hills where the family saw the Wightman Cup matches between the USA and Great Britain and there is a large press photo of the American team before the match, also included are 5 Edwin Trim photo postcards of the players who took the voyage, the album includes many photographs of life and entertainments onboard 'S.S. Washington', and 'S.S. Manhattan' with additional shots of the 'Renown' battleship, 'S.S. California', 'S.S. Pennsylvania' 'S.S. Kassos', 'Europa' and 'The Queen Mary'
