Barry Sheene 1984 Suzuki race-worn leathers, bearing his name front and back, his lucky number 7 on the back and each shoulder, the Suzuki 'S' on the chest and name on the back and both sleeves, also with Dainese, AGV, Champion, Michelin, Shell and other associated sponsors logos, full Dainese lining with stitched in maker's label, integral polymer knee and shin protectors, as used in that year's Swedish Grand Prix, the back damaged in an accident; sold with two framed sets of 6 by 5in. black & white photos of the accident sequence and Barry receiving assistance afterwards, plus a page photocopied from Road Racer magazine (4) Previously Barry Sheene had won six 500cc Swedish Grands Prix, but on August 12th 1984, wearing these leathers, he suffered a 'high-side' caused by cold tyres on the opening lap. Unlike the leathers, he escaped unscathed and duly completed his last full season of GP racing in Italy three weeks later. Purchased from the Barry Sheene Collection acquired in 1987 by Rickspeed proprietor, Richard Barr, the leathers feature polymer shin protectors held in purpose-made pockets within the lining. They were developed especially for Barry to further protect his legs after injuries he sustained in 1982.
