A signed cricket bat from the 1922 Jockeys v Racing Press annual cricket match played at Lord's in aid of St. Dunstan's Hospice for blind ex-servicemen, signed to the face in ink by 12 jockeys, 12 journalists and 2 umpires, the jockeys' team comprising: Steve Donoghue (team captain and that year's Champion and Derby winning jockey), 'Brownie' Carslake (Australian-born jockey, also said to be a 'demon' on the cricket pitch), Bill 'Midge' McLachlan (another Aussie, and three-times Melbourne Cup winning rider), Billy Griggs, Edward Gardner (Lord Derby's jockey), Victor Smyth, G. Smith, Joe Childs (Royal Jockey and winner of 15 Classics), Fred Lane (Derby winning rider), Jack Leach (who later became a writer for The Observer), A Smith & W Lister; the racing press team including The Daily Telegraph's 'Hotspur' (Sidney Galtrey), the Sporting Chronicle's 'Kettledrum', the Sporting Life's 'Man on the Spot' (Meyrick Good) and other writers for the Sporting Life, Evening Standard, P.A. etc.
