A rare programme for the first F.A. Cup final at the Crystal Palace, Aston Villa v West Bromwich Albion 20th April 1895, official one penny programme in the form of a match card printed by F M Evans and Co., Crystal Palace The F.A. Cup finals between 1872 and 1892 were played at the Kennington Oval with the sole of exception of the 1873 final tie played at Lillie Bridge. After one final apiece at Fallowfield and Goodison Park in 1893 & 1894 respectively, the Cup final moved to the new 17 acres sports arena at Crystal Palace where all finals were contested between 1895 and 1914. In the 1895 F.A. Cup final Aston Villa beat WBA 1-0 with Bob Chart scoring the winning goal after just 30 seconds. This remained the quickest F.A. Cup final goal for 114 years until it was finally eclipsed by Louis Saha's goal scored for Everton in the 2009 final after just 25 seconds. In between Roberto Di Matteo had held the record for the quickest goal in a Wembley final with his 42nd second strike for Chelsea against Middlesbrough in 1997.
