Programmes, itineraries and dinner menus relating to Frank Jefferis's period as manager of the Football Association Amateur XI, programmes comprising: v Royal Navy at Chatham 16.12.36 and v The Army at Aldershot 10.11.37; both the above programmes are complete with official F.A. itineraries, other itineraries comprising the Army F.A. 11.11.36 and the Jersey F.A. 12.5.38; menus comprising Jersey F.A. 12.5.38 and the Football League Secretaries' and Mangers' Association dinner at the Park Lane Hotel, London, 6.6.37 The former Everton and Preston player Frank Jefferis stayed in the game after his playing career and was trainer at Millwall. He combined these duties with managing the Football Association Amateur XI. Tragically, Jefferis collapsed and died at the Millwall training ground 21st May 1938, barely a week after his return from managing the F.A. XI in the match against the Jersey F.A. XI, represented in this lot by a menu and an itinerary.
