An England-signed official poster for the 1968 European Nations Cup quarter-final (away leg) v Spain at the Bernabeu, Madrid, 8th May, published by Ortega of Valencia with traditional Spanish bullfighting design, the lower portion printed with team line ups, the England team have fully signed against their name in pen, signatures comprising Bonetti, Newton, Labone, Wilson, Mullery, Moore, Ball, Hunt, Bobby Charlton, Hurst and Peters, and additionally signed by Alf Ramsey and a with a further signature, presumably the reserve, 105 by 54cm., 41 1/4 by 21 1/4in., issued with folds, some tears along the folds to the upper third of the poster With England being the reigning World Champions and Spain the reigning European Champions, this was a huge match to progress to the final stages of the 1968 European Nations Cup in Italy. England won both legs beating the Spaniards 1-0 at Wembley and 2-1 in the Bernabeu. England were then eliminated in the semi-final by Yugoslavia, before gaining consolation in the 3rd/4th place play-off beating the Soviet Union 2-0.
