Jimmy Edwards' blue & white striped West Bromwich Albion 1931 F.A. Cup final shirt, by St Margarets Ltd for J.H. Dicken, Athletic Outfitters, West Bromwich, long-sleeved embroidered club crest badge, lacking the original collar lacing In 1931 West Bromwich Albion were appearing in their seventh F.A. Cup final, and were twice winners. For local rivals Birmingham it was their first Cup final. West Brom won the match 2-1. Jimmy Edwards was born at Tipton in Staffordshire 11th December 1905. The half-back joined West Bromwich Albion in May 1926 for a fee of ?350. However, he did not make his first-team League debut until March 1928 in the match v Hull City. Edwards played his football at The Hawthorns until 1937, when he was transferred to Norwich City for ?750. Edwards remained a local man and died in West Bromwich in April 1982, aged 76.
