''Butch'' White (1935-2008) was a stalwart of Hampshire County Cricket and a member of the 1961 Championship winning side. He formed a powerful new ball attack with Derek Shackleton . His best bowling performance was the 9 for 44 against Leicestershire in 1966 and he took over 100 wickets in four seasons, and well over 1,100 First Class wickets in his career. White played in two Test Matches during the Tour of Pakistan in 1961-62.
