An autographed display of Sonny Liston Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World between 1962 and 1964, the b&w portrait photograph of Louis in boxing pose signed boldly in ink and inscribed ''thanks'', mounted, framed & glazed, 36 by 31cm., 14 by 12in. Sonny Liston won the world title by knocking out Floyd Patterson 25th September 1962 in Chicago. Liston was one of the most powerful punchers and jabbers in history and would surely have dominated the heavyweight scene for many years had he not been boxing in the same era as the incomparable Muhammad Ali with whom he had no answers when they fought in Miami 25 February 1964.
