Macdonald (Charles Blair) Scotland's Gift: Golf, The scarce 1928 limited edition signed by Macdonald on the limitation page, this copy number 210 of 260 (of which 10 were not for sale) and containing six colour plates, three more colour plates than the regular trade edition, 340 pp, illustrated with numerous full-page and half-page photo lithographs from various old sources, 6 tipped-in colour plates (as issued), including a colour frontispiece by Henry C. Frick, with tissue-guards; plus a folding colour map of the National Golf Links of America in the back, original 1/4 vellum and gilt-stamped red boards, gilt-lettered black morocco spine label, New York, Charles Scribner's Sons Charles Blair Macdonald was a pioneer of golf in America, and he laid out the courses at the Chicago Golf Club, the National on Long Island, and Mid-Ocean at Bermuda. Murdoch describes this as ''one of the real masterpieces of golf literature.'' Murdoch also describes a slipcase, but there is not one present with this copy.
