R* R* THE EX-BIRKIN 'BLOWER' BENTLEY ON THE ROAD signed with initials and dated '46, a watercolour heightened with white, paper mounted on board, unframed, image 51 by 70cm., 20 by 27?in. This is the Reid Railton-designed, red single-seater 4?-litre 'Blower' Bentley raced by Sir Henry Birkin at Brooklands and with which he raised the Outer Circuit lap record to 137.96 mph in 1932. Sold off in 1939, it was later converted into a road-legal two-seater and painted green by its new owner after WW2.
