A collection of 17 retro jerseys individually signed by members of the East Germany 1974 World Cup finals squad, eight in the blue first-choice kit, eight in the white change shirt and a yellow goalkeeping jersey, each numbered with the player's 1974 squad number, signatures usually bold examples in black marker pen, subjects comprising: 1 Jurgen Croy 2 Lothar Kurbjuweit, 3 Bernd Bransch, 4 Konrad Weise, 6 Rudiger Schnuphase, 7 Jurgen Pommerenke, 8 Wolfram Lowe, 9 Peter Ducke, 10 Hans-Jurgen Kreische, 11 Joachim Streich, 12 Siegmar Watzlich, 14 Jurgen Sparwasser, 15 Eberhard Vogel, 16 Harald Irmscher, 17 Erich Hamann, 19 Wolfgang Esguin & 20 Martin Hoffmann; sold together with a book ''Deutschland 1974'' signed on p.147 by the East German coach Georg Buschner; and five signed photocards of players (23) East Germany famously beat their West German hosts 1-0 in their 1974 World Cup Group 1 encounter in Hamburg, through a goal by Jurgen Sparwasser. This followed a win over Australia and a draw against Chile, a record good enough for them to top the group. Phase two saw the pitched in the proverbial 'group of death' with Brazil, Holland and Argentina, with whom they secured their only point and they were eliminated. Many of the team were then part of the gold medal winning side in the Olympic football tournament in Montreal in 1976.
