A BEA welcome on board card for Manchester United FC flying on BE 454 Manchester-Dusseldorf 20th November 1956 originally owned by the Manchester Guardian reporter 'Donny' Davies and autographed by the Busby Babes team, the folded card printed on all four sides, 15 signatures in fountain pen comprising: Johnny Doherty, Mark Jones, Tommy Taylor, Tom Curry (trainer), Roger Byrne, Liam Whelan, David Pegg, Geoff Bent, Ray Wood, Bill Foulkes, Johnny Berry, Eddie Colman, Jackie Blanchflower, Duncan Edwards and Wilf McGuinness, also inscribed 'Please return to Don Davies' and with a German address to the back cover The passenger accompanying the Manchester United team was Donny Davies, a former first-class cricketer for Lancashire and England amateur international footballer, who had been appointed football reporter for the Manchester Guardian in 1932 writing under the name of ''An Old International.'' He lost his life while on board another BEA aircraft at the Munich Air Disaster on 6th February 1958 along with 22 others including 9 members of the Manchester United party who had signed the present flight card to Dusseldorf, namely Geoff Bent, Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Tom Curry, Duncan Edwards, Mark Jones, David Pegg, Tommy Taylor and Liam ''Billy'' Whelan.
