A vintage captain's red jacket for Stourbridge Golf Club circa 1900, with navy blue collar and cuffs, three original gilt-metal buttons each with a crossed clubs and laurel motif and inscribed THE STOURBRIDGE GOLF CLUB Stourbridge Golf Club in Worcestershire was established in 1892. At that time it was a 9-hole golf course built on the old Pedmore racecourse. It was subsequently extended to 18 holes over the 93 acres site, which at one time got the course into the Guinness Book of Records as being the course with the longest yardage over the smallest acreage. Famous members past and present include Dr W. Tweddell, the British Amateur Champion, Walker Cup captain and Captain of the R & A; the late Eric Fiddian, English Amateur Champion and Walker Cup captain; and Denis Hayes, a former Chairman of the R & A Committee.
