DE F., 1ER CAMPEONATO MUNDIAL DE FOOTBALL, MONTEVIDEO, 1930; sold together with three examples of the more common bronze medals for the 1930 World Cup, each with the obverse struck with a view of the Tower of Homage at the Centenary stadium, Montevideo, the reverse inscribed A.U.de.F, 1er Campeonato Mundial de Football, Montevideo, 1930, with ring suspension in original paper wrapper, two of the medals in original paper wrappers (6) The scarcer gold plated commemorative medal was reserved for 'leaders' according to an article in the magazine Mundo Uruguayo, 10th July 1930. The bronze medals were sold to the general public.
