Neil Webb's 1990 World Cup cap and FIFA bronze prize medal, the blue cap jointly-issued by the F.A. for the 1990 World Cup qualifying campaign and the finals, inscribed 1988-90, ITALY, POLAND SWEDEN (twice) & ALBANIA (twice); the FIFA bronze medal stuck with an image of the World Cup trophy and inscribed COUPE DU MONDE DE LA FIFA ITALIE 1990, cased (2) The single 1990 World Cup cap awarded by the Football Association represented Neill Webb's appearances in the qualifying competition as well as the finals tournament itself in which he played in the 3rd/4th game against the hosts Italy. Webb also received a FIFA bronze prize medal after that game. The qualifiers included the match v Sweden in Stockholm on 6th September 1989 when Webb snapped his Achilles tendon stretching for a ball that was running away from him on the edge of the box. The injury put him out of the game for several months. This was the same match when Terry Butcher suffered an aerial collision but famously continued playing in head bandage and blood-stained shirt.
