A pictorial commemoration of the 1893 Grand National winner 'Cloister,' a photographically produced portrait print from an Emil Adam painting, with manuscript inscriptions recording the horse's victories and placings in the Grand National, together with other notable wins in the Grand Sefton, Tarporley and Grand Staffordshire steeplechases, mounted, framed & glazed, overall 46 by 56cm., 18 by 22in. The connection between Colonel Hall-Walker and Mr C.G. Duff's steeplechaser Cloister is unclear, other than the fact that Cloister was an outstanding performer at his local racecourses including Aintree and Tarporley.
