Cup runners-up medal season 1931-32 awarded to Arsenal's Herbie Roberts, inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE CUP, RUNNERS-UP, in original fitted case inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE CUP, 1931-32 Herbie Roberts (1905-1944) was a serving police officer and playing amateur football for his local side Oswestry Town when he was signed by Herbert Chapman in 1926 for ?200 and turned professional. He won F.A. Cup runners-up and winner's medals in 1932 and 1936. Upon retiring he trained the reserves team until war broke out. In 1944 he died whilst serving with the Royal Fusiliers.
