This was the last F1 GP ever to be won by a private entrant when Rob Walker's Lotus-Cosworth driven by the Swiss, Jo Siffert, just beat the work's Ferrari of Chris Amon to the line, after a race long duel, the two works Lotuses having unexpectedly retired.
