A small collection of Major H.O.D. Segrave memorabilia, comprising an impression of Segrave in the Golden Arrow car on Daytona Beach bearing a signed dedication 'To Jerry Hammond from H.O.D. Segrave - God bless those Dunlops! 231.36 m.p.h. March 1929', framed and glazed, 20 by 34cm., 9 by 14in., a gold embossed, 20-page souvenir luncheon menu featuring a pastiche of Segrave achievements by Fred Roe on the cover, given by Sir Charles Wakefield in honour of Major Segrave's return from America after winning for England the World's Maximum Speed Record on Land and the Motor Boat Championship of the World Trophy, with a 10-page guest index and plan of tables for the event held at London's Connaught Rooms, St Georges Day 1929; together with a monochrome press photograph of Segrave's speedboat Miss England II being re-fuelled and two of Gar Wood's Miss America VII boat in action (6) From being the first British driver to win a Grande Epreuve in 1923, Major Segrave became the first man to exceed 200mph and would hold the World Land Speed Record a total of three times. In 1929 he was knighted for these achievements, but lost his life the following year attempting the World Water Speed Record in Miss England II.
