An original spool of 16mm film featuring highlights from the Austria v Italy football final at the 1936 Olympic Games played at the Poststadion in Berlin, contained in a small round blue printed tin, a Germam 'Ozaphan' b&w film titled KLAUS WAGREMANN - OLYMPISCHE SPIEL 1936'; sold together with a DVD copy of the film (2) The duration of this film is 4 minutes 7 seconds. It begins with the caption 'Fussball' and the first scene showing the teams running out onto the pitch. A caption then reads ''Seitenwahl' followed by the coin toss. Football action then immediately follows with views of the packed stadium. The story of the first-half is repeated Italian attacks and desperate Austrian defence to leave the scoreline at 0-0 after 45 minutes. Both teams are seen emerging from the underground changing rooms for the second-half. Further Italian pressure is witnessed culminating in the opening goal following an Austrian goalkeeping fumble. This goal sparks excited scenes on the pitch and in the crowd amongst the Italian fans. Further action then sees Austria equalise after a fierce shot leaves the Italian 'keeper leaden footed. The final clips of action see Austria try and force a winner and the Italian goalie punching out a cross. A caption in German then explains that the full-time score was 1-1 and that Italy became Olympic Champions in extra-time, with Austria and Norway finishing in silver and bronze positions. There is no action from the extra-time period, the film maker had probably spent his film after 90 minutes. not illustrated
