A very rare Newton Heath membership card for season 1890-91, the brown cloth covers stamped gilt 675, in very good condition; sold together with several original newspaper cuttings with references to Newton Heath Newton Heath (Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Company) Cricket and Football Club was formed in 1878. They won the Manchester Cup in 1886 and Newton Heath FC were admitted to the second division of the Football League in 1892. Newton Heath were declared bankrupt in 1902 and Manchester United FC was formed in place of their predecessors.
