Two Split Pedigree Books and a Minute Book for the Harwood Stud (now named the Gainsborough Stud), the pedigree books covering the 1930s to early 1970s, the minute book 1946 to 1949; sold with a Clarence Hailey b&w photograph of the Triple Crown winner Gainsborough; & a further b&w photograph of a Chestnut colt by Gainsborough out of Perce Neige dated 1935 The Harwood Stud was established by Lady James Douglas, the owner of Gainsborough, in 1910 near Woolton Hill, south of Newbury. When Lady Douglas died in 1941 the stud was sold to Herbert Blagrave. When Blagrave died the stud was sold to the businessman Jim McCaughey before it was on to HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and renamed the Gainsborough Stud.
