The BBC Television 1998 World Cup presenters' table formerly owned by Robbie Williams, the low, wooden kidney-shaped table supported on a metal frame and feet, and incorporating the BBC logo and a depiction of the World Cup trophy, 239cm. long by 117cm. wide by 46cm. high, 94in. long by 46in. wide by 24in. high This table was used on the set at the BBC Television studios in Paris during their coverage of the 1998 World Cup, anchored by Des Lynam. Later in the year it was offered at a charity auction in aid of the BBC's Children In Need campaign where it was bought by the pop star Robbie Williams. Robbie had made a guest appearance during the BBC's World Cup coverage and expressed an interest in the table at the time and even asked for Des's help in measuring the custom built table. Before delivery to the new owner the table made one final appearance with Des Lynam on the BBC Sports Review of the Year programme broadcast live from the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on 13th December 1998. Subsequently, Robbie Williams gave the table to the present vendor.
