Jaap Stam's signed Manchester United 1999 Champions League final match-worn jersey, a red short-sleeved No.6, inscribed UEFA, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, THE FINAL 1999, UEFA flash to right-sleeve, the reverse lettered STAM where it is signed in black marker pen, turf marks On an unforgettable night in Barcelona Manchester United secured an historic English treble by beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final through two last gasp goals by substitutes Sheringham & Solskjaer. After the match Jap Stam exchanged shirts with Mario Basler, the player who had given Bayern Munich the lead in this extraordinary final after six minutes. Basler in turn gave the shirt to a German football journalist as a birthday present. The shirt was then acquired from the journalist by the present collector, who has verified its authenticity with Manchester United's kit man Mr Albert Morgan. The vendor also met Jaap Stam on the evening prior to the last season's Champions League tie v AC Milan at Old Trafford. Here, Stam signed the jersey, hence the No.31 (Stam's Milan shirt number) after his signature.
