A collection of memorabilia relating to 'Starlight', including medals, plaques, rosettes,1952 Olympic cloth badge, silver international trophy dish dated 1954, photograph album, souvenir magazines, press cuttings, related equestrian books & other miscellaneous items Mrs Baker's Starlight won the individual championship at the International Three-Days Olympic Horse Trials at Badminton, 22nd to 24th April 1953. The horse was ridden by Major L. Rook of the Royal Horse Guards. The pair achieved a remarkable score of plus 5.3 points. The Three Days Event at Badminton was inaugurated when the Duke & Duchess of Beaufort watched the Olympic Games equestrian events held at Aldershot during the 1948 Olympic Games. The Duke offered to provide land and amenities to the British Horse Society to help train a team for the next Olympics at Helsinki in 1952. Starlight competed in these Games but sustained a fall during competition.
