Armstrong's Eamont Racing Stables in Cumbria, a signed, artist's proof, mounted within a decorative, carved wooden frame, overall 92 by 71cm., 36 1/4 by 28in.; sold with six various period photographs portraying the jockey Alfred Sharples, one signed; two b&w photographs of the 1936 Grand National; & a pair of colour lithographs dating from 1886 depicting Archer winning the Derby on Ormonde and the first running of the Eclipse Stakes (11) These items were once the property of the jockey Alfred Sharples who rode for the R.W. Armstrong stable in the early 20th century.
