A silver presentation putter, hallmarked London, 1895, inscribed MISS BEATRIX HOYT, AMERICA'S BEST, W.A.G.C. 1896, on the occasion of her winning the American Ladies Championship, grip also capped in hallmarked silver Footnote Beatrix Hoyt was born in Westchester County, NY, in in 1880. At sixteen she became the youngest U.S. Women's Amateur Champion when she won the 1896 event in what was her first attempt. She also won the title in 1897 & 1898 and is one of only four golfers to win three amateur championships in a row.
