Two Victorian skirt lifts, as was used by lady tennis players for lifting their full length skirts clear of the lawn, each with a clasp to attach to the skirt one of the examples here with the original chord that would be pulled to the desired height and then attached to the lady's belt, both silvered metal lifts with indistinct maker's marks, one possibly reading VILLEROY, the larger 14cm., 5 1/2in.
