A fine silver presentation golf desk set, by George Edwards & Sons (George & Arthur Edwards), Birmingham, 1924, presentation inscription reading: PRESENTED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE STRATHENDRICK GOLF CLUB TO THEIR PRESIDENT HIS GRACE THE DUKE OF MONTROSE K.T., ON THE OCCASION OF THE JUBILEE OF HIS GRACE'S SUCCESSION TO THE DUKEDOM, 1874-1924, the central hinged lidded container engraved with the Montrose family crest, the ink pots formed as mesh pattern golf balls complete with original glass liners, the pen/letter opener rests formed by crossed golf clubs, all on a rectangular platform supported by scroll feet, complete with wooden base, 20.5 by 28.5cm., 8 by 11 1/4in., approximate weight with glass liners removed 1,607gr., 51oz. 12dwt.
