A group of three gold medals won by Jimmy Jones, the first inscribed THE CENTRAL LEAGUE, INTER-LEAGUE 1920, J. JONES; the second inscribed LIVERPOOL COUNTY FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION , SENIOR CUP, RUNNERS-UP, 1925-26; the other inscribed TYNESIDE WEDNESDAY LEAGUE 1910-11, JAS. JONES The first medal was won when Jones was at Bolton Wanderers, the Liverpool Cup runners-up medal relates to his spell at New Brighton. appendix Jimmy Jones (Gateshead, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers & New Brighton) Lot 17 James Jones was born at Newburn, Tyne & Wear, 9th July 1889. The left back graduated through north-eastern football before moving to Blackpool in 1912. After several years of excellent service Jones was bought by Bolton Wanderers in 1919 to replace the ageing Jack Feebury. He finished his career at New Brighton between 1923 & 1926.
