A Frank Thompson Northern Ireland international cap & other memorabilia, a dark blue Northern Ireland international cap issued for season 1913-14; sold with an Irish Football Association silk & gilt-metal badge of similar age; W Maley's The Story of Celtic, the flyleaf with 15 ink signatures, partial dust jacket, published 1939; a small autograph album compiled by Olive Thompson, team-groups including the 1937 Scotland team, Ayr United, Celtic (1940), Morton, Dundee & Clyde; a Scottish football book; & a cigarette card of the Bradford 1911 F.A. Cup winners (6) Frank Thompson from Ballynahinch in County Down won a total of 12 international caps for Northern Ireland between 1910 & 1914. The cap in this lot represents Thompson's appearances against England & Scotland in season 1913-14. Northern Ireland recorded their first away win in England with a 3-0 victory at Middlesbrough. The Scotland match ended as a 1-1 draw in Belfast. Thompson was a member of Bradford City's 1911 F.A. Cup winning side but was playing for Clyde in season 1913-14.
